Kamal Haasan announces retirement from acting! ‘Indian 2’ will be last film

Actor-director Kamal Haasan, who formally launched his political party ‘Makkal Needhi Maiam’ on 21 February this year, said that he would quit acting after ‘Indian 2’ so as to focus on politics.

In an recent interaction with media, Kamal Haasan confirmed that he will be quitting cinema after finishing ‘Indian 2’. "Makkal Needhi Maiam will field candidates in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Tamil Nadu. I'll quit acting after the upcoming project Indian 2, the shooting of which is slated to start on December 14." Kamal Haasan says.

This would mean that Kamal Haasan will not be completing his multi-lingual film Sabash Naidu, a spin-off off based on ‘Dasavatharam's character ‘Balaram Naidu’. Kamal and crew have already shot a few portions of the film in US.
